CONNECTING TO IBM COMPATIBLE PC'S:
Currently the recommended way to interface the recorder to a PC
running DOS or Windows is using the Adaptec SCS! Host
Adaptor AHA 1540/1542.
The procedure for installation is described in the AHA 1540/1542
Installation Guide.
Take the default settings for the AHA 1540/1542 with the
following changes for CDD522 operation:
1) Disable the BIOS:
remove Pin 1 on jumper J6 (BIOS/Auto Sense Control)
2) Disable the floppy:
remove Pin 1 on jumper J8 (Floppy Disk Selection AHA
1542B only)
See appendix p.14 for the complete jumper settings of this board.
Use SCSI cable 22ER931 1/00 or equivalent.
CONNECTING TO APPLE COMPUTERS:
For using the recorder on Apple computers, a special SCSI cable
is required, typenr.: 22ER9310 or equivalent in order for the
system to operate correctly.
CONNECTING TO WORKSTATIONS:
lf the Workstation
is equipped with the same type of mini-SCSI
connectors (as the SCSI-2 specification recommends) then use a
standard peripheral cable as supplied by your workstation
vendor.
