The first instruction of the program is executed when you press and
release . (Notice that you didn't haveto press [3] —when you are
executing a program one step at a time, pressing the key begins
the program from the current step of program memory without the
need to press the user-definable & key.)
Continue executing the program by pressing again. When you
hold down, you see the keycode for the next instruction. When
you release , that instruction is executed.

When you press E5id a third time in RUN mode, step 003 of program
memory is displayed. When you release the key, the instruction
in that step, [ X%¥), is executed, and the calculator halts.

Continue executing the program by means of the 5 key. When you
have executed the [ instruction in step 007, you have completed
executing the program and the answeris displayed, justas if the calcu-
lator had executed the program automatically, instead of via the B
key.
