2 Common Information 2.1 Preface Thank you for selecting the CRUISER walking aid. We have designed this high-quality product to make your life safer and easier, and we’ve included this manual to help you use and care for it. Please read the following instructions to make sure you use this product as recommended. If you have any further questions, or if you have any problems, please contact your healthcare provider. We hope that CRUISER meets your expectations. We reserve technical modifications regarding the specified model in this manual. Before using the walking aid the first time, this manual has to be read and understood by patient and support personnel in order to ensure a safe handling with the walking aid. 2.2 Application CRUISER walking aid is originally designed as a so called “posterior walker” which is used in the reversed direction. This provides an optimum freedom for the legs in the forward direction. Never the less the CRUISER walking aid is applicable as a “anterior walker” in front of the user. The CRUISER walking aid helps children or adolescents use the strength and support of their upper extremities to assist their compromised lower extremities in walking. The walker is to be used to aid the child in learning the sequence of movements involved in walking and thus increase their range of mobility. It is indicated for walking training in the case of diseases or injuries that involve both a disturbance in the locomoter system and imbalance / asynergia. The design promotes an upright posture when standing or walking and thereby differs from basic walkers in that it requires the user to employ more natural movements and can greatly simplify the user‘s ability to stand, establish a sense of balance and walk. The CRUISER walking aid is suitable for reuse. Before re-use, all inspection, care and maintenance measures listed in chapter 5 „Maintenance and care“ must be carried out by the specialist dealer. 2.3 Declaration of Conformity HOGGI GmbH, as the manufacturer under sole responsibility, declares that the CRUISER walking aid complies with the basic safety and performance requirements according to Annex I of Regula- tion (EU) 2017/745 of the EU Parliament and Council. Applicable harmonized standards have been applied. The CRUISER walking aid meets the requirements of ISO 7176-8, DIN EN ISO 11199-2, DIN EN ISO 11199-3 and DIN EN 12182.
