Viking has developed an Enhanced Weather
Protection (EWP) system for selected emergency
and entry phones. EWP is designed for phones
that are mounted outside, in salty ocean air,
high humidity, exposed to corrosive elements or
vehicle exhaust. The electronics are completely
encapsulated in a urethane material. In
addition, the EWP products have mylar
speakers, closed cell foam gaskets, sealed DIP
switches, trim POTs, push button switches,
microphone and LED connections. Tip and ring
connections are filled with anti-corrosive gel.
