STEP 2
Assemble The Top Beams
2.1 Assemble the top beams using 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" pressure-treated material. You will need two
boards cut to 10'-6' and three boards cut to 4' according to the nodes D, E on page 17. To connect top
beams between themselves use half lap connection (nodes F, G on page 18)
2.2 Secure the beams to the studs with 3" x 3" corner braces and 1" wood screws.
2.3 Using a speed square or carpenter's square, check the corners to make sure they are 90°.
