1. Engine stop switch

The ignition switch is located on the
LH side of the central panel below the
handlebar.

The key can be inserted or removed in
this position only.
In OFF position, the electrical system
of the vehicle is disabled.
The engine is shut down by turning
the ignition switch to OFF position.
While the engine can be stopped by
turning the ignition key to OFF posi-
tion, we recommend the engine be
stopped by setting the engine stop
switch to the STOP position.
When turning the key to OFF position,
the vehicle electrical system will take
a few seconds to shut down.

When the key is turned in this position,
the electrical system of the vehicle is
activated.
The gauge should wake-up after a
brief press on the Engine Start button.
The vehicle lights are turned on.
The engine can be started.

The vehicle is delivered with two basic
ignition keys.

These keys contain an electronic cir-
cuit that gives it a unique electronic
serial number.
The D. E. S. S. system reads the key
code and allows engine starting for
keys it recognizes.
This vehicle can be operated using 2
different types of key programming:
– Normal
– Performance
Refer to your authorized Can-Am Off--
road dealer for complete information.
The vehicle is delivered with 1 per-
formance key.
