Its outer carriage is ultra-light and gener-
ously dimensioned, completing a full rota-
tion around its axis every sixty seconds.
The inner cage – which supports a large
Gyrolab variable inertia balance wheel, a
semi-spherical balance spring, and the es-
capement – rotates much more quickly:
in fact, each complete turn on its axis re-
quires exactly 16 seconds, adding up to the
equivalent of 3.75 revolutions per minute.
This rotation speed means not only that
the balance wheel is visible every minute
through the crystal so its beauty can be
admired, but it also provides exceptional
running precision, as it is independent of
the watch's position.
