1.13 MAC DEVICE DRIVER AND SOFTWARE
INSTALLATION
The ORB EIDE driver has to be installed before Mac OS is able to mount
your ORB EIDE Drive. This will also install ORB Tools for Mac on your
system if you are running Mac OS 8.6 - 9.2.2.
Close all open applications and disable virus protection before
proceeding further.
1. Insert the ORB Installation Suite CD into your CD-ROM drive.
2. Launch the installation by doing the following:
• double-click on the CD-ROM icon, Example: ORB Tools R10
• double-click on the ORB Tools Folder
• double-click on the Installer, Example: Castlewood Installer
3. To install your ORB EIDE device driver, follow the instructions displayed.
4. The installer will ask you to restart the system to correctly install
the ORB EIDE device driver. Then your ORB EIDE drive should
appear as an ORB drive icon on the desktop.
5. If the ORB disk is PC formatted, you have the option to re-format it to Mac
format through the Mac OS or ORB Tools for Macintosh.
PROBLEM! If you cannot see or access your ORB EIDE drive,
refer to Section 3, Troubleshooting.
Congratulations! Your ORB drive is ready to use.
1.14 ORB TOOLS FOR MAC
ORB Tools for Mac is a suite of utilities included on the ORB Installation
Suite CD supplied with your new ORB drive that expand its functionality.
This suite of utilities is not supported under OS X.
Scan devices:
Performs a full system scan for ORB drives
and identifies each drive’s system interface.
