Installing the Subscriber Station
IMPORTANT!
The AC model is a non-standard PoE device. Do not attempt to use a third-party PoE injector. Other
types of connections or application of the subscriber station not described in this document are
strictly prohibited and may void the warranty.

For hazardous locations only, a special PoE injector is required.
• DC Models
For DC models, the subscriber station can be connected directly to a 10 to 30 VDC Class 2 power supply. Data is
supplied on a separate port.
CAUTION!
Crushing hazard – risk of damage to cables. Route all power supply cables so that people cannot walk
on them or place objects on or against them.

Connecting Power Directly (DC Only)

The DC version of the RUGGEDCOM WIN5158 requires a 10 to 30 VDC Class 2 power supply.
IMPORTANT!
When connecting a DC battery power supply, make sure to use a 36 VDC, 3 A, double-pole circuit
breaker as the main disconnecting device.
To connect a power supply directly to the subscriber station, do the following:
1.
Make sure the power supply is grounded. For more information, refer to
Subscriber
Station".
2.
Connect the power supply to the 12VDC port on the subscriber station.
