The Cisco products are designed to comply with the following national and international standards on Human

Exposure to Radio Frequencies:

• American National Standards Institute (ANSI) / Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers / IEEE

• International Commission on Non Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) 98

• Ministry of Health (Canada) Safety Code 6. Limits on Human Exposure to Radio Frequency Fields in

To ensure compliance with various national and international Electromagnetic Field (EMF) standards, the

system should only be operated with Cisco approved antennas and accessories.

The Cisco Catalyst Wireless 9163E Series Outdoor AP device includes a radio transmitter and receiver. It is

designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves (radio frequency electromagnetic fields)

recommended by international guidelines. The guidelines were developed by an independent scientific

organization (ICNIRP) and include a substantial safety margin designed to ensure the safety of all persons,

regardless of age and health.

As such the systems are designed to be operated as to avoid contact with the antennas by the end user. It is

recommended to set the system in a location where the antennas can remain at least a minimum distance as
