a POWER indicator
Lights green when the storage unit is operating normally
and power is being supplied to the power units.
This indicator flashes amber if one of the power units
malfunctions.
When both power units malfunction, it flashes red.
If this indicator flashes amber or red, contact authorized
Sony service personnel.
b SYSTEM indicator
Lights green when the server is operating normally.
Flashes green during startup.
If an error occurs, it flashes red.
If it flashes amber, the server may still operate but a
problem has occurred.
If this indicator flashes red or amber, contact authorized
Sony service personnel.

c SLOT indicators
Indicate the status of the processor board installed in each
slot.
Each lights green when the corresponding processor board
is operating normally.
If an error occurs, the corresponding indicator flashes red.
If it flashes amber, the server may still operate but a
problem has occurred.
If any of these indicators flash red or amber, contact
authorized Sony service personnel.
d REF VIDEO connectors
When using an SD encoded REF VIDEO signal, connect a
black burst composite video signal.
The two connectors are in a loop-through state. If loop-
through output is not used, the unused connector is
automatically terminated with 75 ohms; otherwise 75-ohm
termination is not performed.
e 10BASE-T connectors LOCAL1/LOCAL2 (TM-45
processor board)
Connect the LOCAL1 10BASE-T connector on the TM-45
processor board via an Ethernet hub to both the LOCAL1
100BASE-TX connector on the SY-318 processor board
and the ETHERNET connector on the File Manager PC.
The LOCAL2 10BASE-T connector on the TM-45
processor board cannot be used.

CAUTION
For safety, do not connect the connector for peripheral
device wiring that might have excessive voltage to the
following ports.

f TC-IN connector
Accepts a timecode signal input.
g POWER A/B switches
Turn the power supply to the main unit ON/OFF.
Press the ? side of the switches to turn the respective power
units ON. To turn the units OFF, press the 1 side.
h -AC IN connectors and power indicators
Connect to the AC power supply with the optional AC
power cords. The indicator for each connector lights green
when power is supplied to the corresponding power unit,
and flashes or lights red when an error has occurred on the
power unit.
i U (Signal ground) terminal
Used for signal grounding. Connect when required.
j ID switch
Used to set the chassis number of the NSS-V2.
Set the chassis number to 1 for one NSS-V2 server, and 1
to 2 for two servers.
