- Page 3 Taking a reading: 1. Clean the tip with a damp cloth. 2. Turn on the thermometer by pressing the power button. 3. Three colours (green/orange/red) will flash in sequence on the thermometer, followed by the last reading taken, the selected mode (orL / udr / rct / bth), then three dashes ( - - - ) and the measurement icon indica- ting that the thermometer is now ready for use.
