1.
Timer recording of radio broadcasts
Connect the power cords to the components and set
the timer so that power is supplied to each component.
(Timer setting procedures vary with the type of timer
used. Follow the instructions of the timer's manual.)
. Turn on the power switches in the components to be
used for recording.
. Tune in the desired station and set the recording level.
. Set the volume control of the amplifier to its minimum
setting.
. Set the timer to the required time referring to the timer's
instruction manual so that the power will be switched
ON at the preset time.
. Load a tape for recording into B deck.
. Set the DOLBY NR switch to B or C if the recording is
to be made using the noise reduction system.
. Set the TIMER switch to REC.

. Power to the components will be switched ON at the
preset time and recording will start.
Recording stops when the end of the tape is reached.

Timer playback
. Connect the timer as described in the ''Timer record-
ing of radio broadcasts'' section.
. Set the timer so that power is supplied to each of the
components.
. Turn on the power switches of the components to be
used for playback.
Load a recorded tape and set each switch referring to
the 'Tape playback operation''.
. Adjust the volume control of the amplifier.
. Rewind the tape to the start.
. Set the timer to the required time.
. Set the TIMER switch to PLAY.

. The tape will automatically start playback at the preset
time.
The relay playback from B deck to A deck can be also
setting the DIRECTION switch to normal mode ( = } or
reverse mode ( —>) position. (Refer to the ''Relay play-
back operation''.)
@ |f tapes are loaded into both the A and B decks, timer
playback will begin with the B deck.
Tuner models KT-89 and KT-2020(L) incorporate a built-
in timer. For instructions regarding connection and oper-
ation, see the Instruction Manual supplied with the tuner.
The KT-89 and KT-2020{L) models may not be availa-
ble in some areas. For details, consult your dealer.
To ensure that the cassette deck's automatic shut-off switch
operates before the power is shut off, set the timer so that it
operates for a little longer than the playing time of the tape.
. When operating the unit other than the CD player using an au-
dio timer, be sure to remove the disc from the CD player.
3. Do not use a timer for the dubbing procedure.
