Note
No specialist knowledge is required to mechanically
fasten NDC modules to water meters. To commission
the NDC modules, basic knowledge of radio
communication technologies such as M-Bus or LoRa
is useful, but not absolutely essential.
Installing the NDC radio module at ultrasonic water
meters of the IUW / IUWS series
1. Open the water meter lid.
2. Release the standard ex works NDC dummy
module from the water meter which is used to
protect the NFC interface of the meter. For this
purpose, loosen the fastening screw with the
appropriate screwdriver and remove the plastic
dummy.
3. Place the NDC coupler of the NDC LoRa or of the
NDC wM-Bus module onto the NFC interface of
the meter and carefully tighten with the locking
screw, so as to avoid overtightening the screw.
4. Fasten the NDC LoRa / wM-Bus module to the
desired installation point – depending on local
conditions – either using the existing wall
mounting or cable ties. Attach the three metre
long connection cable in such a way that a risk of
injury is not posed.
5. Where possible, ensure that no metallic objects
impede the radio emission of the NDC module.
6
