What is RDS (Radio Data System)
PS (Program Service Name) data
In the RDS system, FM broadcast stations transmit
This refers to the broadcast station name transmitted
such information as station name and programme type
by an FM broadcast station.
in addition to audio signals. This unit receives and dis-
plays the following three kinds of data.
PTY (Program Type) data
During reception of an FM program, this data indicates
RT (Radio Text) data
the type of program.
A message transmitted from the broadcast station us-
