Belt carrier
Principle
The belt carrier makes it easier to put on the
safety belt.
General information
The seat-belt extender extends automatically
and keeps the safety belt ready to put on, arrow.
After the belt is put on, it goes back into the idle
position.
If the safety belt has not yet been applied, the
belt carrier goes back under the following cir‐
cumstances:
Waiting time of approx. five minutes.
Opening the respective door.
After a short trip.
Locking the vehicle from the outside.
When the respective door is closed, the seat-belt
extender extends again.
Functional requirements
Door is closed.
Vehicle key detected in the car's interior.

Jam protection system
Warning
When extending and retracting the belt carrier,
body parts and objects can be jammed. There
is a risk of injury or risk of damage to property.
Make sure that the area of movement of the
belt carrier is clear.
If the belt carrier encounters resistance when ex‐
tending or retracting, the belt carrier moves back
somewhat in the respective opposite. Following
an attempt, the belt carrier will stop in this posi‐
tion.
To reactivate the seat-belt extender, eliminate
the resistance and open and close the respective
door.
Buckling the safety belt
1.
Guide the safety belt slowly over shoulder
and hip to put it on.
2.
Insert the tongue plate into the safety belt
buckle. The safety belt buckle must engage
audibly.
When the safety belt is fastened, the driver's and
front passenger's belt straps are automatically
tightened once after driving away.
Unbuckling the safety belt
1.
Hold the safety belt firmly.
2.
Press the red button in the safety belt buckle.
3.
Guide the safety belt back into its roll-up
mechanism.
