55MM-SM19 INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Requirements
55MM-SM19
3m Telescopic Tripod Mount
Universal Batten Kit for Metal Roofs (Sold
55MM-BK01
separately)
Installation Site
The selected roof installation location must be carefully
inspected to ensure it is structurally sound and in good
repair before installation. Please also ensure the roof
location chosen is suitable for optimal signal and accepted
by the customer before installation.
Warning
The SM19 relies upon the strength of the purlin-rafter joint to
transfer the wind load to the building structure. Therefore,
joints near the mast must be inspected to ensure they are
suitable and structurally sound.
Safety Warning
Dangerous live electrical cables may be behind roof sheets/
building cladding. Please ensure an earth leakage protection
safety device is used when drilling into any surfaces.
Installation Limitations
The SM19 can be installed to a maximum height of 8.5m
above ground level to comply with maximum loading. The
roof must not exceed 30 degrees slope and have cladding
rib heights between 16 and 30mm.
Rafter and Batten spacings must be between 900mm
minimum and 1200mm maximum.
The SM19 mount is only designed for use on standard
corrugated cladding profiles like CUSTOM ORB
different profiles such as TRIMDEK
cyclonic metal batten kit must be used to fasten at the
anchor locations (55MM-BK01 sold separately)
The SM19 is not suitable for tiled roofs or light
gauge metal frame roofs.
Mast and Stay Arms
The SM19 mast is a telescoping mast. Six
different height adjustments are available
from 2.1m minimum to 3m maximum,
allowing the installer to set the mast
at the optimal height for signal
performance. The stay bars are
designed to run down the roof
from the main mast and have a
maximum allowable length of
2800mm. The minimum
allowable overlap of the inner and
outer stay bar tubes is 150mm. See figure 1.

Installation Guide
Step 1: After selecting a suitable
roof position and confirming
with your client, fasten the two
supplied duo cleat brackets to
the roof with the centre bolt
within +-100mm of a roof rafter
and batten joint. Place two
supplied rubber washers
underneath the duo cleat
bracket and fasten to the roof with two supplied Type 17,
65mm wood screws and then repeat the process for the
second duo cleat. Next, place the flattened end of the inner
(smaller) telescoping stay tubes over the M10 threaded
stud and loosely fit the supplied M10 nut to lightly secure in
place. See figure 2.
Note: The flattened ends of the stay
bars can be adjusted to suit the
installation angle by simply bending with
an appropriate tool like a vice grip or
adjustable wrench.
Step 2: Place the mast foot cleat bracket onto the roof on
the higher side above the duo cleats and centre between
them. Ensure the mast foot's higher side flange is on the
upper side of the roof slope. Next, place some roofing
silicone sealant underneath the bottom face of the mast
base where the two screws affix and then fasten to the roof
using two Type 17, 65mm wood screws as supplied.
Then install the 5/16 U-bolt and
mast nest to the mast cleat
bracket using the two 5/16 Nuts,
flat and spring washers with the
nuts on the higher side of the flange.
Make sure there is enough
space for the larger size end of
the mast, seat the mast into the
U-bolt and nest and lightly
tighten the nuts to hold the
mast while still allowing it to
rotate freely. See figure 3.
Warning: If fixing to metal batten roofs (0.42-1.5mm thick),
use either the supplied duo cleats or use the required
cyclonic metal batten kit (55MM-BK01 sold separately)
and fasten, replacing all Type 17, 65mm wood screws with

Step 3: Attach the
flattened ends of the
larger telescoping stay
tubes to the top of the
lower section of the
mast using the supplied
U-bolt, mast nest and
5/16 Nuts, flat and spring
washers. Lightly tighten
the nuts to hold the
mast while allowing it
to rotate freely. Next,
install the lock ring to the
top of the lower outer
mast section and lightly
tighten the thumb bolt to
hold it.
Note: The U-bolt must
only be fastened to the
swaged top section of
the outer mast.
