Operation

Starting Operation
Inserting the battery
The battery is supplied partially charged. To ensure full bat-
tery capacity, completely charge the battery before using for
the first time.
Note: Use of batteries not suitable for the machine can lead to
malfunctions of or cause damage to the power tool.
Set the rotational direction switch 4 to the centre position in
order to avoid unintentional starting. Insert the charged bat-
tery 5 into the handle so that it can be felt to engage and faces
flush against the handle.
Removing the Battery
The battery 5 has two locking levels, which are supposed to
prevent the battery from falling out in case of unintentionally
pressing the battery unlocking button 6. As long as the battery
is inserted into the cordless worklight, it is held in position by
means of a spring.
To remove the battery 5, press the unlocking button 6 and
pull out the battery toward the front. Do not exert any force.
Reversing the rotational direction(see figure B)
 Actuate the rotational direction switch 4 only when the
machine is at a standstill.
The rotational direction switch 4 is used to reverse the rota-
tional direction of the machine. However, this is not possible
with the On/Off switch 7 actuated.
– Right Rotation: For drilling and driving in screws, push the
rotational direction switch 4 left to the stop.
– Left Rotation: For loosening and unscrewing screws and
nuts, press the rotational direction switch 4 through to the
right stop.
Switching On and Off
 Do not continue to press the On/Off switch after the
machine has been automatically switched off. The bat-
tery can be damaged.

To save energy, only switch the power tool on when using it.
– To start the machine, press the On/Off switch 7 and keep
it pressed.
– To switch off the machine, release the On/Off switch 7.
Adjusting the Speed
The speed of the switched-on power tool can be variably ad-
justed, depending on how far the On/Off switch 7 is pressed.
Light pressure on the On/Off switch 7 results in a low rotation-
al speed. Further pressure on the switch results in an increase
in speed.
Setting the torque (see figure C)
With the torque preselection ring 2, the required torque can
be preselected in 25 steps. The inserted tool is stopped as
soon as the set torque is reached.
Gear selection, mechanical
 The gear selector 3 can be actuated at standstill or
when the machine is running. However, this should not
be done while operating at full load or maximum speed.
1st gear:
Low speed range; for working with large drilling diameters.
2nd gear:
High speed range; for drilling with small drilling diameter.
Working Advice
 Apply the power tool to the screw/nut only when it is
switched off. Rotating tool inserts can slip off.

Maintenance and Service

Maintenance and Cleaning
 Before any work on the machine itself (e. g. mainte-
nance, tool change, etc.) as well as during transport
and storage, remove the battery from the power tool.
There is danger of injury when unintentionally actuating
the On/Off switch.
 For safe and proper working, always keep the machine
and ventilation slots clean.
When the battery is no longer operative, please refer to an au-
thorised after-sales service agent for Bosch power tools.
