Changes and additions are as follows.

The Electronic Viewfinder

When a color temperature is selected for white balance, the chosen value now appears in the display.

The camera now displays a "charging" icon when powered via USB or by the AC‐9VS AC adapter supplied with the VPB-XH1 vertical power-booster grip.

Bracketing

Navigate to DRIVE SETTING > BKT SETTING in the SHOOTING SETTING menu and select AE BKT, ISO BKT, FILM SIMULATION BKT, WHITE BALANCE BKT, DYNAMIC RANGE BKT, or FOCUS BKT.

FOCUS BKT


Each time the shutter button is pressed, the camera takes a series of photos, varying focus with each shot. The number of shots, the amount focus changes with each shot, and the interval between shots can be selected using SHOOTING SETTING > DRIVE SETTING > BKT SETTING > FOCUS BKT.

TOUCH SCREEN MODE

Touch Controls for Focus Zoom

Different touch controls are used during focus zoom (focus check enabled).

Central Area

Tapping the center of the display performs the operations below.

Other Areas

Tapping other areas simply scrolls the display, whether during still photography or movie recording and regardless of the option selected for touch screen mode.

BKT SETTING

The following settings are available when BKT SELECT is chosen for FOCUS BKT.

  • Do not adjust zoom during shooting.
  • The supplied flash does not fire.

Focus and FRAMES/STEP

The relation between focus and the options chosen for FRAMES and STEP is shown in the illustration.

  • Focus proceeds from the starting position toward infinity.
  • Small STEP values translate to small changes in focus, larger values to larger changes.
  • Regardless of the option chosen for FRAMES, shooting ends when focus reaches infinity.

LARGE INDICATORS MODE(EVF)

Select ON to display large indicators in the electronic viewfi nder. The indicators displayed can be selected using SCREEN SETTING > LARGE INDICATORS DISP. SETTING.

  • Focus indicator

Select ON to display large indicators in the LCD monitor. The indicators displayed can be selected using SCREEN SETTING > LARGE INDICATORS DISP. SETTING.

LARGE INDICATORS DISP. SETTING

Choose the indicators displayed when ON is selected for SCREEN SETTING > LARGE INDICATORS MODE(EVF) or LARGE INDICATORS MODE(LCD).

Expo. DISP. Choose the items listed at the bottom of the display. Selected items are indicated by check marks (); to deselect, highlight the check marks and press MENU/OK.
Scale Select ON to display the exposure indicator.
L1, L2, L3, L4 Choose up to four large icons for display on the left side of the screen.
R1, R2, R3, R4 Choose up to four large icons for display on the right side of the screen.

Bluetooth SETTINGS

Adjust Bluetooth settings.

Option Description
PAIRING REGISTRATION To pair the camera with a smartphone or tablet, select this option, then launch FUJIFILM Camera Remote on the smart device and tap PAIRING REGISTRATION.
SELECT PAIRING DESTINATION Choose a connection from a list of devices with which the camera has been paired using PAIRING REGISTRATION.
Select NO CONNECTION to exit without connecting.
DELETE PAIRING REG. Delete pairing information for selected devices. Choose the device in the device list. The selected device will also be removed from the devices listed in SELECT PAIRING DESTINATION.
Bluetooth ON/OFF
  • ON: The camera automatically establishes a Bluetooth connection with paired devices when turned on.
  • OFF: The camera does not connect via Bluetooth.
AUTO IMAGE TRANSFER
  • ON: Mark photos for upload as they are taken.
  • OFF: Photos are not marked for upload as they are taken, but JPEG images can be selected for upload using the IMAGE TRANSFER ORDER option in the playback menu.
SMARTPHONE SYNC. SETTING Choose whether to synchronize the camera to the time and/ or location provided by a paired smartphone.
  • LOCATION&TIME: Synchronize the time and location.
  • LOCATION: Synchronize the location.
  • TIME: Synchronize the time.
  • OFF: Synchronization off.

PC CONNECTION MODE

Adjust settings for connection to a computer.

Option Description
USB CARD READER Connecting the camera to a computer via USB automatically enables data transfer mode, allowing data to be copied to the computer. The camera functions normally when not connected.
USB TETHER SHOOTING AUTO Connecting the camera to a computer via USB automatically enables tethered shooting mode. You can also use FUJIFILM X Acquire to save and load camera settings, allowing you to reconfi gure the camera in an instant or share settings with other cameras of the same type. The camera functions normally when not connected.
USB TETHER SHOOTING FIXED The camera functions in tethered shooting mode even when not connected to a computer. At default settings, pictures are not saved to the memory card, but pictures taken while the camera is not connected will be transferred to the computer when it is connected.
WIRELESS TETHER SHOOTING FIXED Choose this option for wireless remote photography. Select a network using CONNECTION SETTING > NETWORK SETTING.
USB RAW CONV./ BACKUP RESTORE Connecting the camera to a computer via USB automatically enables USB RAW conversion/backup restore mode. The camera functions normally when not connected.
  • USB RAW CONV. (requires FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO): Use the camera's image processing engine to rapidly convert RAW files to high-quality JPEG images.
  • BACKUP RESTORE (requires FUJIFILM X Acquire): Save and load camera settings. Reconfi gure the camera in an instant or share settings with other cameras of the same type.

Battery Level

A "checking battery level" indicator will be displayed when the camera detects that charge remains in the grip batteries. The display changes to the battery level once the camera has determined the amount of charge remaining.

COPY

warning

  • Copying ends when the destination is full.
  • If you attempt to copy a file over 4 GB in size to a memory card with a capacity of 32 GB or less, copying will end and the file will not be copied.

Mac OS X/macOS

Pictures can be copied to your computer using Image Capture (supplied with your computer) or other software.

warning Use a card reader to copy files over 4 GB in size.

Memory Card Capacity

warning If the memory card has a capacity of over 32 GB, movies will be recorded in single files, regardless of size. If the card has a capacity of 32 GB or less, movies over 4 GB in size will be recorded uninterrupted across multiple files.
