Disassemble the Gear
Selector (
WS482 and WS442
First see:
Remove Clutch Gear
Shafts (p. 80)
Attention!
The gear selector switch was updated
in 2012� The position of the spring
loaded balls has been moved� See the
difference in appearance of the gear
selector switch�
Note: The gear selector switch only
needs to be removed if it is hard to
turn or if it is leaking oil.
1� Turn the gear selector 45° to
be sure it is no pressure on the
locking nut�
2� Unscrew the locking nut�
3. Attention! Be careful and protect
your eyes� Use a glove or cloth and
cover the hole� Turn back the gear
selector until the ball and spring
intend to jump out�
4� Carefully remove the ball and
spring�
5� Clean the gear selector thoroughly
internally with strong anti grease
to be able to get the balls and
second spring out�
6� Turn the gear selector 90°and tap
the arm against a table to get the
next ball out�
Repeat this with the remaining 2
balls and the second spring�
7� Push the gear selector out from
the inside�
