9.5 Performing a Test

An infrared beam across the tester cup controls the test. The
test will begin automatically when the tester cup is placed over
the detector, breaking the infrared beam. The app will indicate a
test is in progress and that it is awaiting the result (Fig. 55).
Figure 55
When the detector is activated, the optical LED reader
inside the tester cup will sense the detector activation LED
and automatically end the test. The app will indicate the test
was successful by displaying "Passed" in green and you should
remove Testifire XTR2 by gently lowering it. The result will be
added to the Test Job record and optional notes can be added
to the record (Fig. 56).
Figure 56
If after two minutes the test has not completed, Testifire XTR2
will time-out and the test will be recorded as failed. The app will
indicate the test was unsuccessful by displaying "Failed" in red
and you should remove Testifire XTR2 by gently lowering it. The
result will be added to the Test Job and a prompt will appear to
add notes (Fig. 57).

NOTE:
Adding test notes are compulsory for failed tests and must
be added before a Test Job can be closed. It is not compul-
sory to add notes to passed tests.
