Location

The appliance should be installed well away from any sources of heat such as radiators, boilers, direct sunlight etc. Ensure that air can circulate freely around the back of the cabinet. To ensure the best performance when positioned below an overhanging wall unit, the minimum distance between the top of the cabinet and the wall unit must be at least 100 mm (4 inches).
Ideally, however, the appliance should not be positioned below overhanging wall units.

Do not stand on or place flammable objects or toxic chemicals on top of the refrigerator.

Electrical Connection

Before plugging in the unit, ensure that the voltage and frequency shown on the rating plate correspond to your domestic power supply. The appliance must be grounded using a main wall outlet. The power supply cable is provided with a contact for this purpose. If the domestic power supply socket is not grounded, connect the appliance to a different outlet in compliance with current regulations, consulting a qualified electrician if necessary. The manufacturer declines all responsibility if the above safety precautions are not observed.

To remove and disconnect all power, switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the main outlet, or switch the unit off and turn off the circuit breaker or fuse. Never clean the appliance with a steam cleaner as moisture could accumulate in electrical components, causing electrical shock! Hot vapors can also damage plastic parts. The appliance must be completely dry before turning it on and continuing use.

Ethereal oils and organic solvents can damage plastic parts, e.g. lemon juice or the juice from an orange peel, butyric acid, and cleaners that contain acetic acid. Do not allow such substances to come into contact the appliance parts. Do not use any abrasive cleaners.

Defrosting of the freezer

The freezer compartment will become progressively covered with frost. This should be removed. Never use sharp metal tools to scrape off frost from the evaporator as you could damage it. However when the ice becomes very thick on the inner liner complete defrosting should be carried out as follows:

  • Pull out the plug from the outlet
  • Remove all stored food wrap it in several layers of newspaper and put it in a cool place.
