Introduction

This watch has been carefully designed to give you years of reliable service. The design incorporates the latest watchmaking technology and features like a solid titanium case and anti glare mineral crystal. USING THE SCREW CROWN (C)

Your watch is equipped with a screw-down, locking crown "C". This screws into the case, to ensure a reliable water tight seal. To set your watch, you must first unscrew the crown by turning it counter-clockwise 3-4 turns, then pull out gently from the case for setting. After setting or resetting the watch, you will need to screw the crown back in, by pressing it firmly against the case (it is spring-loaded) and simultaneously turning it in a clockwise direction. Then, taking care not to force or cross-thread the crown, turn it until it is snug against the case and finger-tight. It is absolutely essential that the screw down crown is fully closed before using your watch in or around water and we recommend that this is checked prior to contact with water. Any warranty whatsoever will be invalidated if this vital procedure is not adhered to. Watches returned within the warranty period that have suffered from water penetration will be pressure tested to check the effectiveness of the screw down crown.

SETTING THE TIME AND DATE

To set the watch, first unscrew the crown. Once unscrewed, the crown can be pulled out two "stops". The first position is the DATE / ALARM setting position, and the second position is the Time setting position.
To ensure that the date changes correctly, pull the crown out one stop, to the DATE / ALARM setting position. Turn the crown counter-clockwise until the date in the date window at 3 o'clock shows yesterday's date. Then, pull the crown out one more stop to the Time Setting position and turn the hands forward until the date in the date window changes to the current date. Keep turning the hands forward until you reach the correct time. Once the time is set, press in and screw down the crown.
NOTE: If you set the watch after 12 o'clock noon, make sure you turn the hands around the dial and past 12 o'clock (noon) to set the PM time. If you do not do this, the date will change at noon, instead of midnight.

SETTING THE ALARM

To set the alarm, first unscrew the crown. Once unscrewed, pull the crown out one stop, to the DATE / ALARM setting position. Now turn the crown clockwise, so the ALARM hand (the hand with the red arrow tip) is aligned with the time you wish to wake up. Once the ALARM is set, press in a screw in the crown firmly.

TURNING THE ALARM ON / OFF

Once the desired time has been set as outlined above, turn the alarm on by pulling out the ALARM button (A).
When the alarm sounds, turn it off by simply pressing the ALARM button (A) gently into the case.

THE SNOOZE FEATURE

Please note that if you do not turn off the alarm by pressing in button A, it will sound for approximately 10 seconds, then automatically shut off and go into snooze mode. This causes the alarm to sound several times at approximate 3 minute intervals.

NIGHT- READING

Your watch employs an amazing new luminous material called BLACKOUT SUPERLUMINOUS. This technology allows you to read your watch at night, without pushing any buttons, so you do not need to use two hands. Just glance at your watch and read the time. Completely nonradioactive, BLACKOUT SUPERLUMINOUS functions by charging from ambient light.
The brighter the light, the faster and more powerful the "charge". When new, we recommend you set it in direct sunlight for 30 minutes to charge it up for maximum effect, but normal room lighting will generally charge your watch enough to be legible for several hours.

WATER PROTECTION

The Pathfinder ti is designed as a rugged sports watch. Each watch is waterproof tested to 10 ATM (330 FT) and can be immersed in water, provided the crown is correctly screwed in and the alarm button is in the 'off' position. If the watch is regularly serviced and maintained, you can wear it in the shower, swimming, kayaking, etc., without worry.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT BAND

A selection of alternate bands are available to fi t your watch: these may include natural rubber, Cordura®, 'Snowboard' nylon, various styles of high quality leather bands, or a matching metal bracelet. CRYSTAL

Your watch is fitted with a heat-tempered mineral crystal. Please note that while glass is heat-hardened, an impact with a hard or sharp object can scratch the crystal, or crack or shatter it. If this happens, return the watch to one of our Service Centers and the crystal can be replaced for a moderate charge. (Scratches and impact damage are not covered under warranty.) A completely scratch proof sapphire crystal (now standard on S-Series models) is available at extra cost from our Service department.

TEMPERATURE CARE

Avoid temperature extremes. Exposing your watch to high temperatures, such as placing it on the dashboard of a vehicle or use in a jacuzzi or hot tub may cause the watch to malfunction, shorten battery life, or cause deformations of certain components leading to mechanical failures. Leaving the watch in extreme cold temperatures may cause irregular time keeping until the watch returns to normal operating temperatures. For these reasons, you should remove your watch prior to exposure.
