Remote Control
The VCR's remote control can control functions on the brands
of DBS (Direct Broadcast Satellite) receivers listed below.
TURN O N THE DBS
RECEIVER
Turn the power on using the DBS receiver's remote

control.
EN TER DBS RECEIVER
BRAN D
While holding down CABLE/ D BS on the VCR's remote

control, press M BR SET and use the N U M BER keys to
enter the DBS receiver brand number from the chart in
the left column and then press STO P .
Follow the example shown below.
The DBS receiver's power should go off. If it does, try
other operations (
● Once you have set the remote control to operate the
DBS receiver, you don't have to repeat this step until
you replace the remote control's batteries.
O PERATE DBS RECEIVER
First, while holding down CABLE/ D BS , press the

corresponding button: PO W ER , TV CH +/ – , N U M BER
keys.
● Depending on the DBS receiver you may have to
press EN TER after having pressed the N U M BER keys.
● To change the DBS receiver's channel, press
+/ – or the N U M BER keys. (The CH +/ – button can be
used to change the VCR's channel only.)
N O TES:
● Depending on the type of DBS receiver, there may be cases
where some or all functions cannot be operated using the
remote control.
● It's not possible to operate a DBS receiver that is not
equipped with a remote control sensor.
● Though ECHOSTAR has a number of different remote codes,
this remote control is applicable only to one of those codes
preset at the factory.
● It's not possible to set the remote control for both your DBS
receiver and a cable box at the same time. You can only set
the remote control to operate one of these units at a time.
