Driving safely
When driving a recreational vehicle a few
particular things must be noted:
– Close the adjustable windows, skylight
and roof windows.
– Before driving check that all doors, flaps
and drawers are closed tight.
– Fold back the dining table and store it
securely in the holder provided in the rear
area.
– All seats must face the direction of travel
when travelling and be securely fastened.
– The seatbelt on the bench must be lying
on the bench so that any possible passen-
gers can fasten themselves in.
– All luggage and items must be safely
stowed.
– When the vehicle is loaded the driving
characteristics are altered. Especially if
the roof-rack is being used. You must
therefore adjust your driving to these
altered conditions.
– Your speed should be suited to the traffic,
the condition of the roads and the load.

– Close all gas shutoff valves.
Exception: If you wish to leave the warm
water boiler on when travelling.
– The supplemental heater must be
switched off when refuelling. Avoid open
flames, the gas cooker and warm water
boiler must be switched off.
– The use of gas equipment at petrol
stations and on ferries is not allowed.
– If you have a gas bottle in your vehicle
you are generally not allowed to park
your vehicle in an underground or
overground car park.
Observe the garage or car park
regulations.
– If bicycles* and/or sporting equipment*
are attached, the fastening elements of the
carrier unit and sporting equipment must
be regularly checked to ensure they are
secure and adjusted if necessary.
– Check if the awning* has been wound in
completely and is securely latched into
place.
