Vehicle care - exterior
Supplemental heater
The casing of the supplemental heater is
provided with a factory-made surface pro-
tector. However as damage to this protec-
tive layer during use of the vehicle cannot
be ruled out, we recommend checking the
casing in certain circumstances and supple-
menting it if necessary.
To supplement it, you can use the corrosion
protection agents for the vehicle
undercarriage.
Outside of hot periods (summer) you should
turn on the supplemental heater once a
month for approx. 10 Minutes.
Decorative stripes and writing
The decorative stripes and writing on the
outside of the vehicle must not be cleaned
with a high-pressure cleaner or tar remover
so that they do not rub off or become
damaged.
Skylight/ electric glass sunroof*
– Regularly remove dirt (insects, leaves
etc.) from the seal frame and clean the
rubber seal.
– Then treat the rubber seal with a rubber
conditioner. The seal will stay flexible
and last longer.
It will also not freeze in winter.
– Clean the glass dome with acrylic glass
cleaner. Opaque areas and light scratches
on the acrylic glass pane can be treated
with acrylic glass polish.
– The roller blinds should be cleaned with
mild soap.

Warm water boiler
So that no water ends up in the combustion
unit of the warm water boiler, make sure to
put the cover (flue cap) on the side gas flue
before washing the vehicle.
Waste water tank
Regularly check the drain valve for free
movement.
Clean the mechanics and lubricate or oil the
guides between moveable parts.
Waxing
A good wax protects the vehicle paintwork
from environmental influences (e.g. parking
under tree, insects, bird droppings etc.) and
also from light mechanical impacts.
At the latest, when water no longer clearly
rolls off the clean paintwork, you must re-
wax the vehicle with a wax that contains a
UV filter.
Even if you regularly use a wash-wax, you
must treat the paintwork at least twice a
year (more if possible) after washing with a
hard wax containing UV stabilising
material.
