Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What are the various types of memory that my mother-
board can support?
Answer: The X6DA8-G2/X6DAE-G2 has eight 240-pin DIMM slots that sup-
port registered ECC DDR2 400 (PC3200) SDRAM modules. However, the
X6DA8-G/X6DAE-8 has eight 184-pin DIMM slots that support registered
ECC DDR 333/266 (PC2700/PC2100) SDRAM modules. It is strongly recom-
mended that you do not mix memory modules of different speeds and sizes.
Please refer to Chapter 2 for instructions on memory support.
Question: How do I update my BIOS?
Answer: It is recommended that you do not upgrade your BIOS if you are
experiencing no problems with your system. Updated BIOS files are located
on our web site at http://www.supermicro.com.
