HOW TO USE YOUR TRACTOR
Yourtractoris equippedwith an operator
presencesensingswitch.When engine is
running,anyattemptby the operatorto
leavethe seat withoutfirstsettingthe
parkingbrakewillshut offthe engine.
TO SET PARKING BRAKE
• Depressclutch/brake pedal intofull
=BRAKE"position and hold.
• Place parkingbrake leverin =EN-
GAGED"positionand releasepressure
from clutch/brake pedal. Pedal should
remainin =BRAKE" position.Make sure
parkingbrake will holdtractorsecure.

GROUND DRIVE -
• Depressclutch/brake pedal intofull
=BRAKE" position.
• Move gearshift lever to neutral(N) posi-
tion.
ENGINE -
• Move throttle controlto slow position.
NOTE: Failureto move throttle controlto
slow position and allowingengineto idle
befotL_oppir_j-may cause engineto
=backfire".
• Turn ignition key to =OFF"position and
removekey. Always removekey when
leavingtractorto preventunauthorized
USe.
• Never use choke to stop engine.
NOTE: Undercertainconditions when
tractoris standingidlewiththe engine run-
ning,hot engineexhaustgases may
cause"browning" of grass. To eliminate
this possibility, alwaysstopenginewhen
ppingtractoron grassareas.
CAUTION: Alwaysstop tractorcom-
pletely,as describedabove,beforeleaving
the operator'sposition; to emptygrass
catcher,etc.
THROTTLE CONTROL
Alwaysoperateengineat full throttle.
• Operatingengineat lessthan full throt-
tle reducesthe batterychargingrate.
• Fullthrottle offersthe bestbaggingand
mowerperformance.
TO MOVE FORWARD AND BACKWARD
The directionand speed of movement is
controlledbythe gearshift lever.
• Starttractorwith clutch/brake pedal
depressedand gearshiftlever in neutral
(N) position.
• Move gearshiftleverto desired posi-
tion.
• Slowlyreleaseclutch/brakepedalto
start movement.
IMPORTANT: Bringtractorto a complete
stop before shiftingor changinggears.
Failureto do so will shortenthe usefullife
of yourtransaxle.
TO ADJUST MOWER CUTTING HEIGHT
The cuttingheightis controlledbyturning
the heightadjustmentknobin desired
direction.
• Tum knobclockwise(
) to raise cut-
tingheight.
• Turn knob counterclockwise (
) to
lowercuttingheight.
The cuttingheightrange is approximately
1-1/2"to 4". The heightsare measured
from the groundto the blade tip withthe
enginenot running. These heightsare ap-
proximate and may vary dependingupon
soilconditions, h eightof grassand types
of grassbeing mowed.
