Bit installation

cautiOn! tO preVent inJury: Wear heavy‑duty
work gloves to provide protection when inserting and
removing drill bits. Drill bits become very hot during
use. Do not remove drill bits until the bit has cooled.
1. Rotate Chuck's Collar counterclockwise
to open or clockwise to close Jaws, so
that Jaws are slightly larger than bit.
2. Use a drill bit (sold separately) designed for the
workpiece type. Insert bit into center of Jaws.
note: For hex shank or three‑sided shank
bits, align flat sides of bit with Jaws.

Workpiece and Work area Set up

1. Designate a work area that is clean and well‑lit.
The work area must not allow access by children
or pets to prevent distraction and injury.
2. Route the power cord along a safe route to reach
the work area without creating a tripping hazard or
exposing the power cord to possible damage. The
power cord must reach the work area with enough
extra length to allow free movement while working.
