Operation of the Unit

1.
Be sure that all piping, power and water connections are in
compliance with the local standards.
2.
Check that water inlet valve is turned on and the unit is connected
to the power source.
3.
During the first operation before the unit purifies water and fill the
storage tank, all pre-filters and then post carbon filter should be
flushed.
During the flushing procedure, dark water will be released from
filters because of the carbon inside. Main reason of this flushing is to
protect the membrane from carbon residues.
Follow below steps for flushing:
Remove the tubing from pump inlet.
Turn on the water inlet valve and open the water flow to the
unit
Take off the inlet tubing of the pump and place it inside a bowl
and wait for 2-3 minutes to drain the water inside the bowl.
When water color becomes clear, turn off the water inlet valve.
Reassemble the inlet tubing to the pump.
4.
Install the membrane inside membrane housing (see RO Membrane
Installation).
Be sure to use gloves and pay attention to the direction of the membrane
while placing inside the membrane housing.
5.
Turn on the water inlet valve.
6.
Now follow below steps to flush PAC (Post Active Carbon) Filter:
After turning on the water inlet valve, turn off the ball valve of the
storage tank.
Turn on the RO faucet that was installed on the counter.
For Daphne Plus, when RO faucet is on, the unit will start auto flush
and drain waste water. Daphne does not have auto flush function.
WARNING: At this point you should be sure that the waste water tubing
is intact and well attached. During the drain of waste water, waste water
tubing may be disconnected because of water pressure.
After the auto-flush, Daphne Plus will start to purify water.
However, Daphne will start to purify water immediately.
At first water from RO faucet will be in dark color because of
PAC Filter.
Flush water at least 15-20 min. from RO faucet. This is
important to ensure longer filter life and good water quality.
When the water from RO faucet becomes clear, TDS of Ro
water will drop. After the water color is clear, you may check
TDS value.
After 15-20 min. of flushing, and TDS value is checked, turn
off RO faucet and turn on the ball valve of the storage tank.
NOTE: This flushing should be done both during the first start-up and
then in each time when filters are changed.
7.
Storage Tank will be completely full within 25-30 min.
8.
Inform the customers that the first 2 or 3 tanks of water should be
drained and not consumed.
9.
After the start-up check all tubings, faucet connections, source,
permeate and waste water outlets.
