Unit Identifier Switch/UID LED Indicator
A Unit Identifier (UID) switch and a UID LED (LED2) are located on the I/O panel. A front
UID switch is located on pins 7 & 8 of the front panel control (JF1). When you press the front
UID switch, the UID LED will be turned on. The UID indicators provide easy identification
of a system that may be in need of service. (Note: UID can also be triggered via IPMI on
the motherboard. For more information, please refer to the IPMI User's Guide posted on our
website at http://www.supermicro.com.)

IPMI_LAN Port
An IPMI-dedicated LAN that supports GbE LAN is located next to USB 2/3 ports on the
backplane. The IPMI_LAN is supported by the - AST2500 BMC (Baseboard Management
Controller). This port accept a RJ45 type cable. Please refer to the LED Indicator Section for
IPMI_LAN LED information.
