Description
The GBR Concealed, Recessed and
Pendent sprinklers have the ability to
cover large areas with very low flow and
pressure requirements. This, combined
with the aesthetics of the concealed and
recessed glass bulb design, provides a
sprinkler that is attractive and cost effec-
tive. The Model GBR-2 is U.L. Listed
for use in sloped ceilings with pitches
up to 8:12. Refer to the Sprinkler De-
sign Requirements Table on Page 3
for specific flows and pressures for
sloped ceilings, and Page 2 of this
Data Sheet for further sloped ceiling
design guidelines. The Central Model

in a much smaller more attractive sprinkler.
The operating mechanism consists of a liq-
uid-filled 3 mm diameter frangible capsule
that is only 20 mm in length.
The Model GBR Automatic Sprinklers are
intended for installation in accordance with
current NFPA 13, NFPA 13D and NFPA 13R
Standards and Central's Residential Installa-
tion Guide. They are available in 7/16"
(11.1 mm) and 1/2" (15 mm) orifice size, and
a 155°F/68°C temperature rating. The
Model GBR Sprinklers, escutcheons, and
concealed plates are available in brass or
chrome plated and white painted, with addi-
tional special painted finishes available.
Operation: The glass bulb capsule oper-
ating mechanism contains a heat-sensitive
liquid that expands upon application of heat.
Upon reaching the rated temperature, the
frangible capsule ruptures thereby releasing
the orifice seal. The sprinkler then dis-
charges water in a pre-designed spray pat-
tern to control or extinguish the fire.
