Introduction
This hardware installation guide is for the following NETGEAR Smart Switches with
optional Remote/Cloud Management via the NETGEAR Insight network management
cloud portal and app:
• GS728TPv3: 24-Port Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ Smart Switch with 4 SFP Ports (190W)
• GS728TPPv3: 24-Port Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ Smart Switch with 4 SFP Ports (380W)
• GS752TPv3: 48-Port Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ Smart Switch with 4 SFP Ports (380W)
• GS752TPPv3: 48-Port Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ Smart Switch with 4 SFP Ports (760W)
The switch provides twenty-four or forty-eight Gigabit RJ-45 copper PoE+ ports with
four dedicated SFP ports. Power over Ethernet plus (PoE+) provides power to
PoE-capable devices such as WiFi access points, VoIP phones, and IP security cameras
so that you don't need to use power adapters for those devices.
The maximum PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) power that the switch can provide across all active
PoE+ ports depends on the model:
190W for model GS728TPv3, 380W for models GS728TPPv3 and GS752TPv3, and 760W
for model GS752TPPv3.
This hardware installation guide complements the installation guide that came with your
switch.
This chapter serves as an introduction to the switch and includes the following sections:
• Overview
• Management options
• Features
• Safety instructions and warnings
