Transferring a license
Transfer license via license card and WBM (RF1100)
Requirements
• An RF1100 reader that is connected to the PC via Industrial Ethernet.
• A license card with a valid license
Procedure
Follow these steps to transfer a license to an RF1100 reader via WBM:
1. Start your Web browser.
2. Enter the IP address of the reader in the address field of your browser.
3. Log into the WBM if you have not already done so.
Please note that as a "Read only" user, you cannot transfer a license.
4. Activate "license mode" in the "Reader configuration" menu item under "Extended".
5. Hold the license card to the reader to which you want to transfer the license.
Result: The license is transferred to the reader.
The installed license is displayed in the output box. After the desired license has been
transferred, the license mode is automatically disabled again and the reader returns to the
original device status.
Causes and error correction (RF1000)
The following table provides an overview of the causes and their possible solutions if the
transfer via license card failed.

Solution
Configure "Autoread" mode.
Enable "Autoread" mode.
Call the function.
Make sure that you are using a license
card suitable for the reader.
Use a license card with a valid license.
Repeat the process. Do not remove the
license card from the antenna field of the
reader until the yellow LED goes out.
Use a different license card or contact
Siemens Support.
