• Keep batteries away from children and pets. Batteries may be harmful if swallowed. Should a child or pet
swallow a battery, seek medical assistance immediately.
This product contains a CR Type Coin Lithium Battery which contains Perchlorate Material – special handling
may apply: If you have any questions, please contact the local authorities responsible for waste disposal.
If present, remove the battery insulating strip or remove the battery's protective film and remove the battery
cover. Insert the battery according to the polarity. If the scale fails to operate, remove the battery completely
and reinsert it. Replace the battery cover carefully.
A new battery will last for approximately 1.2 years if the unit is used on an average of three times per day.
The trial battery supplied with the unit may have a shorter life. Remove batteries if you do not intend to use
the scale for longer periods before placing the device in storage.
Your scale is equipped with a "replace battery" indicator. When the scale is operated with a battery that is
too weak, "Lo" appears in the display field and the scale automatically switches off. The battery must be
replaced in this case (3V CR 2032 battery).

3. Usage Tips

3.1 Weighing correctly

• Place the scale on a hard, plane, level floor (no carpet); a firm floor covering is required for correct measurement.
• If possible, always weigh yourself at the same time of day (preferably in the morning) striving for comparable
conditions such as after using the toilet, on an empty stomach and unclothed, in order to achieve compa-
rable results.
• Stand still and upright during measurement.

3.2 General notes

• The capacity of the scale is 400 lb (181 kg / 28 st).
• The results are shown in 0.2 lb increments (100 g / 1 lb).
• On delivery the scale is set to the unit "lb". A switch located on the back of the scale enables you to change
to "kg" or "st".
