BASIC FEATURE SET APPLICATIONS (continued)
NOTES:
1. The "Emergency Calling" features operate in conjunction with FleetSync Emergency Status
Message decoding. See the "FleetSync Programming Guide" for details.
2. Emergency Calling can only be done to a particular Fleet/ID. Broadcast, Group and Supervisor
calls are not supported.
3. Manual selection and encoding of the Emergency Status No. 99 (i.e., part of a special reserved
status block 80-99) can be inhibited on fleet units to prevent false emergency status message
alarms. An emergency can still be initiated by a programmed "emergency" key or a foot switch
closure.
4. The Emergency Status Response parameter in a base mobile unit can be programmed to
activate the horn alert output (i.e., active TTL logic level) to trigger a light or alarm device.

Emergency Alert Man-Down

Definition:
FleetSync radios can send an Emergency Man-Down Message telling the targeted radio
that a user is in trouble. The FleetSync radios use the reserved Special Status 98 as an
Emergency MAN-Down Message. The optional CAE-3 Tilt Switch is required for this
feature.
Usage:
The Man-Down function works the same as the emergency function with the exception of
the way it is triggered and can only be used in a portable. If the radio is set on its side
(user is rendered unconscious and is lying on the ground), Emergency Man-Down will be
sent to the base.
Application:
Police or Security Officer has been rendered unconscious and needs back-up and/or
Emergency assistance. Once the radio is set on its side and the Man-Down timer expires,
a Status 98 ("Man-Down Emergency") will be sent to the dispatcher. The base station
emits a repeating alert tone and triggers a light circuit at the dispatcher's station.
