MAINTENANCE

Cable Installation
To reduce the risk of injury, always
WARNING
wear proper eye protection marked
to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Always wear leather
gloves over latex/rubber gloves to avoid entan-
glement. The cable is under pressure and can
uncoil unexpectedly. Cable ends may be sharp.
Replace cables as needed. See chart for accessory
part numbers and compatibility.
To remove the cable:
1. Check to make sure the cable lock is in the un-
locked position. If not, loosen the lock until the
cable can move freely. Feed the cable out of the
nose of the auger, until the only remaining cable
is the end that is anchored to the drum.
2. DRIVER - Remove the Trapsnake™ Driver from
the auger.
3. Remove the four screws from the drum cover using
a screwdriver.
4. Pull off the drum cover to expose the inside of the
drum.
5. Remove the screw and washer to free the remain-
ing cable. WARNING! The end of the cable has a
lot of potential energy. Be careful when removing
the cable. Use your free hand to hold the cable
down while the screw and washer are removed.
Then, slowly remove the cable end from the anchor.
6. When cleaning or maintaining the cable, follow the
cleaning instructions under "Maintenance".
To install the cable:
1. Check to make sure the cable lock is in the un-
locked position. If not, loosen the lock until the
cable can move freely.
2. Insert the new cable through the nose of the auger.
3. Place the highlighted cable section in the cable
anchor tray and secure it in place with the screw
and washer. The cable should be placed in a
clockwise direction, so when the rest of the cable
is fed into the drum it goes in the direction of the
arrow. Hand tighten the screw.

4. Ensure the drum o-ring is laying correctly in its
o-ring groove. Line the drum cover with the align-
ment lip on the drum. Reinstall the four screws on
the drum cover and tighten securely.

5. Fully wind the clean, dry cable into the drum. This
can be done by hand, with the crank arm and knob
or the Trapsnake™ Driver.
6. Remove the protective tip cover from new cables
before use.
