3. HAND FEEDING - Grasp the cable close to the
auger and manually feed it into the drain until the
obstruction is reached. WARNING! Always wear
leather gloves over latex/rubber gloves to avoid
entanglement.
MANUAL - Place the auger no more than 4" from
the drain opening. WARNING! Greater distance
can cause twisting, kinking, breaking or whipping
of the cable. Rotate the arm out of the crank arm
housing 180°. Slide the autofeed lockout out of
the way and squeeze the autofeed grip. Rotate
the crank arm in a clockwise motion using the
crank arm knob to begin rotating and advancing
the cable. Advance the cable until the obstruction
is reached.
DRIVER - Place the auger no more than 4" from
the drain opening. WARNING! Greater distance
can cause twisting, kinking, breaking or whipping
of the cable. Slide the autofeed lockout out of
the way and squeeze the autofeed grip. Pull the
trigger to begin rotating and advancing the cable.
Advance the cable until the obstruction is reached.
NOTE: If the cable is not advancing, see the "Unbind-
ing Cables" section.
Removing the Blockage
Blockage can be removed with the cable lock either
in an unlocked or locked position.
Cable lock in an unlocked position:
1. MANUAL - Rotate the crank arm in a clockwise
position to begin rotating the cable.
DRIVER - Set the Trapsnake™ Driver forward/
reverse switch to the reverse position ►. Pull the
trigger to begin rotating the cable.
2. Move the tool in a back and forth motion, with the
cable rotating, until the obstruction is cleared. If
the tool binds, stop the rotation immediately.
NOTE: If the cable is not advancing, see the "Unbind-
ing Cables" section.
3. Repeat until the drain is clear.
NOTE: Running water during these steps may help
break up and flush out the blockage.
Cable lock in a locked position:
1. Tighten the cable lock.
2. MANUAL - Squeeze the autofeed grip but do not
slide the autofeed lockout out of the way. Rotate
the crank arm in a clockwise position to begin
rotating the cable.
DRIVER - Set the Trapsnake™ Driver forward/
reverse switch to the reverse position ►. Squeeze
the autofeed grip but do not slide the autofeed
lockout out of the way. Pull the trigger to begin
rotating the cable.
3. Move the tool in a back and forth motion, with the
cable rotating, until the obstruction is cleared. If
the tool binds, stop the rotation immediately.
NOTE: If the cable is not advancing, see the "Unbind-
ing Cables" section.
4. Repeat until the drain is clear.
NOTE: Running water during these steps may help

Unbinding Cables
1. MANUAL - Rotate the crank arm knob in a coun-
terclockwise motion.
DRIVER - Set the forward/reverse switch to the
reverse position ◄. Pulse the trigger until cable
is unbound.
2. Withdraw the auger a few inches while in reverse
to free the cable.
3. Stop the rotation.
4. DRIVER - After the rotation has come to a com-
plete stop, switch the Trapsnake™ Driver back to
the forward position ►.
Running the tool in reverse for extended

periods can cause damage to the cable
and accessories.
Removing Auger From Drain
1. HAND FEEDING - Grasp the cable close to the
auger and manually feed it back into the drum.
WARNING! Always wear leather gloves over latex/
rubber gloves to avoid entanglement.
MANUAL - Slide the autofeed lockout out of the
way and squeeze the autofeed grip. Rotate the
crank arm knob in a counterclockwise motion to
begin retracting cable from the drain.
DRIVER - Set the Trapsnake™ Driver forward/
reverse switch to the reverse position ►. Slide
the autofeed lockout out of the way and squeeze
the autofeed grip. Pull the trigger slightly to begin
retracting cable from the drain.
NOTE: Running water while retracting the cable will
help keep the cable clean and limit the amount of
debris brought into the drum.
2. Remove about 12" of cable from the drain.
3. Stop the rotation.
4. Wipe the exposed cable with a rag and feed it back
into the auger.
5. Repeat steps 1-4 until the cable is free from the drain.
6. Before storing the tool, wash the cable and drum
(see "Cleaning Cables" in Maintenance).
