The new Barcode Zapper 2D is the ideal solution for streamlining workflow while boosting productivity. Designed to allow intensive use all day long, the new Barcode Zapper 2D's ergonomic handle grip and big trigger button provide maximum comfort without compromising the sleek-yet-modern form factor.
Scanning nicely printed barcode labels is simple, and most scanners can easily read well-printed labels. But because there are so many poorly printed barcode labels in the real world, the Barcode Zapper 2D has been designed to handle printing tolerances of up to ± 200% to help it to read virtually any barcode label, even if it’s badly printed.
Barcode scans simply appear as if typed on the keyboard. To install the USB interface Barcode Zapper 2D, all you need to do is plug it into any USB connector on your computer. The USB port provides all the power required for the Barcode Zapper.
To set up your Barcode Zapper 2D unit, turn to the relevant page for the interface type you require, and scan the setup barcodes on that page, taking care to scan them in the numerical order shown.
Barcode Zapper 2D The barcodes below configure the Barcode Zapper 2D to connect via USB. Note that scanning these barcodes will remove any custom settings you have made. In most situations, you will not need to scan these barcodes. Remember that you must scan the barcodes below in the numerical order shown (1-5 in the left column, then 6-12 in the right column), and you must wait for the scanner to beep after every barcode.

Barcode Zapper 2D RS-232 The barcodes below configure the Barcode Zapper 2D to connect via RS-232. Note that scanning these barcodes will remove any custom settings you have made. In most situations, you will not need to scan these barcodes.
ISBN (SCIS) mode. Remember that you shouldn’t need to scan any of these setup barcodes – your Barcode Zapper 2D has been supplied already set up for you.
Barcode Zapper 2D SCIS (ISBN-10 and ISBN-13) SCIS stands for Schools Catalogue Information Service. It is a service that provides schools with consistent, high-quality library catalogue records, in order to reduce the cost and duplication of effort of cataloguing resources.
Barcode Zapper 2D Australia Post Barcodes The Barcode Zapper 2D can be configured to read Australia Post 2D barcodes using the configuration codes below. Use this first section to enable or disable reading of Australia Post barcodes. First, scan the PROGRAM barcode on the left below, then the AUSTRALIA POST READ barcode, then one of the options on the right, and finally the END barcode on the left.

Barcode Zapper 2D Tilde Prefix Some applications require each barcode to be output with an extra character before the barcode. A common prefix character is the tilde ~, and the barcodes below allow this to be set. You must scan all of the barcodes below in the numerical order shown, and the scanner must beep after every barcode.
Barcode Zapper 2D Output Terminators for USB Only To set the terminator character when the Barcode Zapper 2D is set to USB mode, scan the PROGRAM barcode on the left below, then the KEYBOARD TERMINATOR barcode, then one of the terminator options on the right, then the END barcode on the left.
Barcode Zapper 2D RS-232 Baud Rate To set the baud rate, scan the PROGRAM barcode on the left below, then the SET BAUD RATE barcode, then one of the baud rate options on the right, then the END barcode on the left.
Barcode Zapper 2D Output Terminators for RS-232 Only To set the terminator character when the Barcode Zapper 2D is set to RS-232 mode, scan the PROGRAM barcode on the left below, then RS-232 TERMINATOR barcode, then one of the terminator options on the right, then the END barcode on the left.
To the extent permitted by law ASP's warranty in respect of the Barcode Zapper 2D and its use is limited to correction of defects in the Barcode Zapper 2D due to faulty components or workmanship for a period of three years from the date of purchase.
