    7. Align pad driver mounting studs with slots in motor hub. Give the driver a quick turn toward the motor hub spring clip. Be certain that spring clip locks into one of the studs before operating machine (Figure 9). FIG. 6 Tennant 5500/5520 (08–01)

    DRAINING SOLUTION TANK To drain leftover cleaning solution from solution tank, perform the following steps: 1. Pull clear hose off hose barb at rear of machine and drain solution into floor drain or bucket (Figure 22). FIG. 20 Tennant 5500/5520 (08–01)

    Avoid contact with battery acid. 1. Transport machine to a well–ventilated area for charging. 2. Turn main switch to the off position. FIG. 25 NOTE: Once charger is connected to machine, machine becomes inoperable. Tennant 5500/5520 (08–01)

    (Every 4 Hours of Operation) 1. Remove and clean pads/brushes. Never use soiled pads when cleaning. Replace pads when they become loaded with residue. 2. Remove and clean lint from float shut–off screen located in recovery tank (Figure 27). FIG. 28 Tennant 5500/5520 (8–01)

    2. After charging, check fluid level (A) in each battery cell of all batteries. The level should reach bottom of sight tubes (B). If needed, add just enough distilled water to reach bottom of sight tubes. DO NOT overfill (Figure 29). FIG. 29 Tennant 5500/5520 (08–01)

    ATTENTION: If storing machine if freezing temperatures, be certain to drain machine of all water. Damage due to freezing temperatures is not covered by warranty. ATTENTION: Do not expose machine to rain; store indoors. Tennant 5500/5520 (06–99)

    Turn solution flow knob clockwise to adjusting. increase flow. Short run time. Batteries not fully charged. Charge batteries. Bad cell in one or more batteries. Replace battery.
