Functionality added in Version 2.00

Capture Audio data from Audio CD (CD Capture)

VS-2480 and VS-2480CD have function to capture Audio data from Audio CDs.
If you are using a VS-2480 that is not equipped with an internal CD-RW
drive, you will need to purchase a separately available CD-RW drive.
For instructions on connecting the drive, refer to "Connecting the CD-R/RW Drive" (User
Guide p. 81).
PX-4220Te, PX-8220Te, PX-W124TSe, and PX-W1210TSE manufactured by PLEXTOR is
supported. In case you are using other drives approved by Roland, consult with your
retailer, the nearest Roland Service Center, or an authorized Roland distributor.

Load an Audio CD or CD-R/RW disc that contains audio you like to
capture on CD-RW drive.
• L-Ch DESTINATION TRACK
Select the destination track of audio to capture. Select the destination track of left
channel audio here.
• R-Ch DESTINATION TRACK
Select the destination track of audio to capture. Select the destination track of right
channel audio here.
• CAPTURE TO
You can adjust the time of placement.
• to ZERO:
Place the audio data starting at 00h00m00s00f.
• to Last Phrs:0S:
Place the audio data after the end of the last phrase in the destination tracks.
• to Last Phrs:2S:
Place the audio data two seconds after the end of the last phrase in the
destination tracks.
• to Last Phrs:4S:
Place the audio data four seconds after the end of the last phrase in the
destination tracks.

2. Press [CD-RW MASTERING].
CD-RW Mastering Menu will appear, then
press PAGE 2 [F1 (CDCapt)]. In the VGA
screen, click "CD-RW MASTERING" in the
menu to select "CD CAPTURE." CD
CAPTURE screen will appear.

In the following cases, you
must specify a stereo pair
as the capture-destination
tracks. If the destination is
not a stereo pair, the
display will indicate
"Illegal Track Pair!," and
the capture operation will
not be carried out.
• If the current project
has a recording mode of
"CD-R"
• If a CD-R mode phrase
has been recorded in
the capture-destination
track.
If the track you select for
"L-Ch DESTINATION
TRACK" is a track in which
a CD-R mode phrase has
been recorded, turning the
TIME/VALUE dial will not
change "R-Ch
DESTINATION TRACK."
