Functionality added in Version 2.00
The following functionality has been added in version 2.00 of the Roland VS-2480
system (hereafter referred to simply as the VS-2480) and the VS-2480CD.
• Mouse can be used with an attached VGA monitor
• Phrase levels can be adjusted individually (Phrase Level)
• Capture from a music CD (CD Capture)
• Creation of multiple sets (patterns) of automix data
• Mouse can be used for phrase trim-in/trim-out
• Additional shortcut buttons
Using an external VGA display to operate the VS-2480
An externally connected VGA display and mouse can be used to operate the
VS-2480/2480CD.
For details on the functions and names of the knobs and buttons that appear in the
VGA display, refer to "Objects shown in the VGA display" (p. 3).
To switch the controlling display
When using the VS-2480/2480CD, you need to select the display that you want to
use as the graphical user interface. If you are controlling the parameters using the
built-in LCD (liquid crystal display), the VGA display will be display-only. If you
want to use the external VGA display to control the parameters, you must switch the
graphical user interface to VGA.
To use the VGA display for control
1.
Press [UTILITY].
2.
Press the PAGE 1 tab [F1 (SYSTEM)].
3.
Press [F2 (Param2)].
4.
Move the cursor to "OPERATION TARGET,"
and turn the VALUE dial to select "VGA." Now
you can control the parameters using the VGA
display.
To use the internal LCD for control
1.
In the upper part of the VGA display, click "UTILITY."
2.
Click "SYSTEM PARAMETER." The system parameter screen will appear.
3.
Click "F2 (Param2)."
4.
Click the "OPERATION TARGET" parameter "LCD." Now you can
control the parameters using the LCD.
To instantly switch the controlling display
Here's how you can instantly switch control between the two displays:
• Hold down [SHIFT] and press [UTILITY].
If you press these two buttons when the LCD is the controlling display, the
controlling display is changed to VGA. Simply repeat the procedure to return
control to the LCD.
Hereafter, operations such
as pressing [UTILITY]
while you hold down
[SHIFT] will be shown
simply as
[SHIFT] + [UTILITY].
