About this Manual

This manual contains information about the Extron RGB 170
computer video interface, and includes information on how to
install, operate, and troubleshoot the unit.

About the RGB 170

The RGB 170 is an ultra high performance RGB computer video
interface capable of driving a 1600 x 1200 resolution computer
signal over 185 m. (600 feet) using Extron Mini HR cables, or
300 m. (1000 feet) using Extron RG6 cable. The RGB 170
processes both RGB and HDTV component signals.
The RGB 170 has one gain potentiometer and two peaking
potentiometers on the front panel. On the rear panel, the
RGB 170 provides one 15-pin HD connector for RGBHV input,
fi ve BNCs for RGBHV output, and one 15-pin HD connector
for loop-through output. The unit restores the sync signals, but
does not process them for format, polarity, or delay.
The RGB 170 is housed in a 1U, half rack, 6" deep, 2-piece
enclosure, and uses an internal power supply.

podium, or tabletop.
Global accessibility — provides a universal internal power
supply allowing for worldwide usability.
