Uninstall the Rimage software and hardware
Problem
The Rimage software and/or hardware installation was completed incorrectly. For instance, the USB
cable was connected too early in the installation or files did not install correctly on the PC.
Symptoms
You may see the following symptoms:
•
Each time the Rimage system is started, the Windows Found New Hardware wizard displays.
•
A message displays a warning that the driver for a device cannot be found.
•
The Rimage system does not produce discs.
Solution
To correct these symptoms, you must uninstall and reinstall the Rimage software and hardware.
Before you begin:
1.
Stop all jobs in progress.
2.
Close all applications.
3.
Power down the Rimage system.
4.
Disconnect all cable connections from the Rimage system to the PC.
Uninstall the Rimage software
1.
At the PC where the Rimage software is installed, navigate to the Control Panel.
•
Windows XP – Navigate: Start > Control Panel. The Control Panel window opens.
•
Windows 2000 – Navigate: Start > Programs > Settings > Control Panel. The Control Panel
window opens.
2.
Uninstall the Rimage software.
a.
In the Control Panel window, select Add/Remove programs. The Add or Remove programs
window opens.
b.
From the Currently installed programs list, select the Rimage software.
Tip: If you have a Rimage 2000i, your software may be listed as OfficeNet Software
Suite.
c.
Select Remove.
d.
Follow the onscreen prompts to remove the software.
3.
Restart the PC.
Reinstall the Rimage hardware and software
Refer to the Setup and Installation instructions included with your product to reinstall the Rimage
hardware and software. The Setup and Installation instructions for your product are also available at
http://www.rimage.com/support.html.
Important! Do not connect the cables until you are instructed to do so!
