Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Desktop Systems
Automatic Updates of Windows Service Pack 2 begin August 16, 2004.

Symptom

If you have a Rimage Desktop Product (Rimage 2000i, Liberty 1500, Liberty 4500), Windows XP
Service Pack 2 will cause Production Server to fail.
When the Rimage unit initializes, Production Server will close. No error messages will display and
Production Server will not recover.

Cause

Windows Service Pack 2 includes changes to a runtime file used by Production Server.

Solution

Uninstall Windows XP Service Pack 2 on all PCs using Production Server to submit jobs to the
Rimage system.
1. On your PC, Navigate: Start> Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs.
2. Select Windows Service Pack 2.
3. Select Change/Remove. Windows Service Pack 2 uninstalls.
