Chapter 4: Setup

4.1 Introduction to instrument grouping

When a Remote Keypad is first installed, all instruments respond
simultaneously to the Remote Keypad button presses.
Although this simultaneous operation may be suitable for installations
with a small number of instruments, in larger installations, it is often
more convenient to organise instruments into groups.
Once a Remote Keypad and instruments have been grouped, the up and
down keys are used to select individual instruments. An instrument can
then be operated remotely using the appropriate Remote Keypad
buttons.
You can create up to eight standard instrument and eight ST80
MaxiView instrument groups:
• Each group can have up to eight instruments.
• Each group must have at least one Remote Keypad grouped to it.
• Each Remote Keypad can only be grouped with one ST80
• Each instrument in a group has a unique alphanumeric identity (e.g.

4.2 Grouping standard instruments

To define a group of standard (110 mm) instruments:
1. At any Remote Keypad, press and hold the lower
MaxiView and one standard instrument group.
