Connecting to a PC
Connecting with USB cable A to C
When you connect this terminal with PC via a USB cable A to C 02 (sold
separately), you can synchronize data with Galaxy Smart Switch PC
(P.124) or recognize this terminal as a media device.
• The connectable OS are Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, Mac OS X 10.5
or late.

Insert Type-C plug of USB cable A to C into USB Type-C
connection terminal of this terminal to connect this terminal
to a PC
• Insert the USB plug and Type-C plug horizontally.

Open the Notification panel → "USB for file transfer" → "USB
for file transfer"
• Setup screen is displayed on the terminal.
Information
• Connect the USB plug of USB cable A to C directly to the USB
connector of a PC. If you connect it via USB HUB or USB extension
cable, it may not work properly.
• Do not remove USB cable A to C while data is transferring. Data may
be damaged.
• Selecting "Connected device" for "USB controlled by" enables the
terminal to charge from the device it is connected to. Charging may
not be possible depending on the connected device.
Using Galaxy Smart Switch
Using Galaxy Smart Switch to manage media files such as music/video
and personal information and update the software of the terminal.
You can only forward content that you own or have the rights to.

Start up "Smart Switch" on a PC
• Follow the onscreen instructions.
Information
• Do not remove USB cable A to C while data is transferring. Data may
be damaged.
• Check the battery capacity before data transfer.
Launch Smart Switch connecting Wi-Fi Direct
By connecting to Wi-Fi Direct, you can migrate data wirelessly.
For example, migrating data from an older terminal

Start Smart Switch on the previous terminal
• If the app isn't installed, download it from Play Store or Galaxy Store.

From the Home screen of the terminal,
"Accounts and backup" → "Bring data form old device"

"Receive data" → Select the types of terminal that you used
before → "Wireless"
• The displayed item may differ depending on selected terminal.
