Here's what to try:
• Tape already rewound.
• Power interruption. Clock on the front panel will show --:--.
• Clock was not set accurately (check AM/PM and date).
• Time counter display appears in VCR's display panel. Press DISP on
remote.
• VCR is removing tape from heads. This is normal. The head cylinder inside
the VCR will continue to rotate for a few minutes after you put the VCR in
the stop mode.
• Check antenna connections.
• Check Signal Type: ANTENNA/CABLE/CABLE BOX feature. See page 8.
• Channels must be placed in memory using Auto-Search Channels feature
before channels can be added or removed from channel memory. See page 10.
• Cable channels over 69 can only be selected if Signal Type:
ANTENNA/CABLE/CABLE BOX feature is set to CABLE. See page 8.
• Set Auto Play ON/OFF feature to ON. See page 17.
• Auto Repeat feature turned on.
• AUDIO button must be set to STEREO to record broadcast stereo.
See page 26.
• AUDIO button must be set to SAP to record SAP. See page 26.
• STEREO or SAP indicator not on. Station not broadcasting stereo or SAP.
• AUDIO button must be set to HI-FI to hear stereo sound during playback.
See page 20.
• Stereo signal is weak. Set AUDIO button to MONO.
• Press one of the TRACKING up or down buttons to minimize the noise.
• Check the clock to make sure the time is correct.
• Make sure safety tab is in place.
• If an RCA VCR recording and StarSight recording are scheduled at the same
time, only the StarSight recording will occur.
