  • Page 4 Locate area to install indoor unit. Choose an area where the wall is plumb and determine how to best run the unit interconnects. Ensure that all panels/covers can be removed for service as required. o Indoor unit must be located a minimum of 4’ from the floor and 6” from the ceiling.

    Mounting indoor bracket: o After unpacking remove mounting bracket from the rear of the indoor unit. Locate an area to mount bracket. o Use a level to ensure mounting bracket is level so condensate will drain properly. o The indoor unit weighs a maximum of 46 lbs. o Securely attach bracket to the wall by placing screws through the bracket into the wall studs.

    Indoor unit: Defrost cable location for MSC424HP13230A and 24H43ZCX Defrost cable not included with kit; it is included with the indoor unit. Outdoor unit: Remove wiring cover first if defrost cable is not exposed remove top cover. Hanging Indoor Unit: o Once the bracket has been mounted and the power cable(s) fed through the 3”...

    o Use 2 wrenches to tighten the connections. Do not over torque. o Do not install a liquid line sight glass or filter drier in the system. o Once the copper tubing has been connected to the indoor stub start routing the tubing to the outdoor unit avoid tight bends and kinking the lines.

    Electrical connections: o Electrical wiring should be done in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and local state/city building codes. o Ensure that the proper size breaker is used for the rating plate amperage. o Each system installed must have a dedicated branch circuit with an individual breaker/fuse.

    INDOOR OUTDOOR ALL INTERCONNECT CABLES N(1) N(1) SHOULD BE ONE CONTINUOUS CABLE (NO SPLICES). DO NOT USE SOLID CONDUCTOR WIRE. DISCONNECT (CUSTOMER SUPPLIED) INTERCONNECT WIRING FOR MODEL: MS418HP13240A, 18H43ZGX NOTES When connecting terminals wire color is not important, except green, which should always be used for GND. Wire outdoor to indoor terminal to terminal as indicated in drawing above.
  • Page 11 INDOOR OUTDOOR 2 CONDUCTOR SENSOR CABLE IS SUPPLIED WITH THE INDOOR UNIT. THIS CABLE MUST BE INSTALLED IN ORDER FOR UNIT TO OPERATE PROPERLY IN HEAT MODE. THIS CABLE CAN BE EXTENDED IF NECESSARY. ALL INTERCONNECT CABLES SHOULD BE ONE CONTINUOUS CABLE (NO SPLICES).

    Connecting the condensate drain line extension: o Connect the supplied drain line to the gray condensate line coming from the indoor unit. o The condensate line should be placed under the copper tubing in order to drain more efficiently. o After the copper tubing, wiring and condensate hose has been installed wrap the bundle with the 2”...

    Check system operation: o The outdoor unit is pre-charged at the factory so no additional adjustment to refrigerant charge is required if line set is at design length or less. o Additional charge must be weighted in per the following table. Model Design oz.

    Troubleshooting for new installations: - Check operation without low ambient kit or condensate pump first. - Disconnect any of these devices prior to troubleshooting. - Check for proper input voltage. - Check wiring connections. - Check wiring at indoor unit. - Check for proper remote control settings.
