The IBM
Enterprise X-Architecture
Your server is a blade-model server that is one of up to 14 blades that can be
installed in the IBM Eserver BladeCenter Type 8677. This high-performance blade
server is ideally suited for networking environments that require superior
microprocessor performance, efficient memory management, flexibility, and reliable
data storage.
This Installation and User's Guide provides information to:
v Set up your blade server
v Start and configure your blade server
v Install options
v Install your operating system
v Perform basic troubleshooting of your blade server
The latest version of this publication is available from the IBM Web site. Complete
the following steps to display a list of publications for your BladeCenter.
1. From http://www.ibm.com, click Support & downloads.
2. Click Search technical support.
3. In the Enter PC machine type and model field, type 8678 and click Submit.
4. On the left side of the "BladeCenter HS20 8678 support" page, click Online
5. From the Online publication by category menu, select the category of
Packaged with the Installation and User's Guide are software CDs that help you to
configure hardware, install device drivers, and install the operating system.

information about your blade server are provided in Portable Document Format
(PDF) on the IBM BladeCenter Documentation CD.
Your blade server comes with a three-year limited warranty. If you have access to
the World Wide Web, you can obtain up-to-date information about your BladeCenter
HS20 Type 8678 model and other IBM xSeries
